ALAN D. CHRISTENSON - Associate
BiographyAlan Christenson has been with Conley Rose since 2003 and specializes in patent prosecution in the electrical arts, including: circuits, software, and communication protocols. His patent prosecution experience ranges widely and covers oilfield tools, computer products, network node devices, specialized circuitry and software, and wireless devices. He also has experience with foreign filing, working with foreign associates, developing strategies for the preparation of multiple related patent applications, and prosecuting multiple related co-pending applications. He has also assisted clients with related services such as patentability searches and analysis, and trademark registration. Mr. Christenson is fluent in Spanish and is interested in international intellectual property rights. Mr. Christenson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University in 2002 and earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in May 2007. While an undergraduate, he developed a lasting appreciation for technology and the challenge of turning the electrical behavior of materials into commercial products. Notable undergraduate projects include building a stereo amplifier, designing and debugging a RISC processor, manufacturing waveguides, and programming a motorized robot to play soccer using overhead video camera images. As an undergraduate, he also worked for Hart Scientific, supporting temperature measurement and calibration equipment, and for Maxim Integrated Products, where he designed and built IC test circuits as a test engineering intern. During law school, Mr. Christenson worked as a patent agent and developed into an efficient patent practitioner. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Christenson also worked as a technical advisor for Rader, Fishman, & Grauer in Salt Lake City, where he drafted patent applications in the fields of wireless communications, networking, and software.
