Biography

Mark E. Scott is the managing shareholder of the firm's Austin office.

Mr. Scott counsels clients in intellectual property law, with particular emphasis on domestic and foreign patent acquisition, and patent licensing. With broad technical knowledge based in an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mr. Scott has extensive patenting experience in a broad array of technology areas, such as semiconductor design and processing technologies, microprocessor design and operation, image processing software and hardware, avionics, mixed-signal circuit design, switching power supplies, communication systems, fault tolerant computing systems, down hole logging tools (including nuclear, electromagnetic and acoustic), flow measurement systems, and various medical devices.  Mr. Scott has also gained significant experience in drafting and prosecution of "software" applications, as our economy shifts more toward the value of products being embodied in software executed on the products.  Just since opening the Austin office of Conley Rose, PC in 2005, Mr. Scott has personally drafted over 300 patent applications and over 200 Responses to Office action.

Further, Mr. Scott also has significant experience in other aspects of intellectual property law including obtaining and managing trademark portfolios, copyrights, and trade secrets.
