Our summer program is based on the split-summer model. While we
prefer a six-week summer commitment, we will gladly accommodate
students who wish to have longer clerkships, as well as those who
prefer to clerk with us during the school year. We are happy to
coordinate a mutually agreeable schedule with you and encourage
you to let us know if you have particular scheduling issues.
Interested individuals may send a resume and cover letter to Attn:
Recruiting at one or more of the addresses on our contact
page.
During your summer with us, you will have the opportunity to explore
all areas of our practice, which spans the spectrum of intellectual
property law. Clerkships with our firm are structured to simulate
the first-year associate experience. Consequently, you can expect
that the types of projects that you are assigned will match the
work that would be expected of a first-year associate starting with
the firm.
Attorneys are encouraged to give feedback to summer associates after
assignments have been completed. At the end of the summer, attorneys
are given the opportunity to evaluate each summer associate and
make a recommendation regarding an associate offer. Offers are extended
at the end of the summer program.
Work is only part of the clerkship equation. The other part is meeting
the people at the firm. Aside from day-to-day interactions with
your colleagues, a variety of social activities will be scheduled
throughout the summer to provide you with a chance to meet members
of the firm outside the office. Summer Associates also receive a
salary competitive within our market in addition to paid parking.
