Patent Agents and Technical Advisors are a significant part of many areas of our practice. Patent Agents and Technical Advisors work closely with our attorneys, our clients, and inventors to prepare and prosecute patent applications. Their expertise in a particular technology is a valuable resource to our attorneys, clients, and inventors. Our Patent Agents and Technical Advisors also have the opportunity to be exposed to other aspects of our practice such as litigation and patent licensing. Patent prosecution involves a unique mix of challenges including both technical and legal skills. The Patent Agent/Technical Advisor position provides a means for experiencing this unique mix without the requirement of a formal legal education (i.e., law school). Conley Rose offers an excellent career path via the Patent Agent/Technical Advisor position for those with technical or scientific backgrounds who wish to work in the challenging and rewarding field of Intellectual Property law. Our Technical Advisors are encouraged to sit for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registration exam to become registered Patent Agents.

While no prior experience in Patent Law is required, applicants must have solid English communication skills and must be capable of quickly learning leading-edge technologies. We offer salaries ranging from $50K - $85K, with a very realistic potential of $100K+, including incentive bonuses. Insurance benefits, 401(k) and a profit sharing plan are also included.
